Dr Timothy Ogieva Ogbebor

Dr. Timothy Ogieva Ogbebor is an economist and a seasoned banker. He holds the B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD degrees in Economics, as well as an MBA (Finance) degree, all from the University of Benin, Nigeria. He is a Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Scholar having won the Prize of Best Graduating M.Sc. Economics student at the University of Benin, Nigeria. He also holds the professional certificates of Associate of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (ACIB), Microfinance Certified Banker (MCIB), and Certified Microfinance Practitioner (CMP), United Kingdom. He has garnered over thirty years combined commercial and microfinance experience and has worked in some of the top deposit money banks and microfinance banks in Nigeria. His specialty is in credit appraisal, administration and control. He is also a researcher who has published and co-authored over twenty journal articles in local and international journals. His research interest covers development economics, financial economics, macroeconomics, public sector economics and banking. He believes that the roles of finance and financial intermediation are inevitable tools for the economic development of any nation.

He is currently the 2nd National Vice President, National Association of Microfinance Banks (NAMB) and the immediate past Chairman, NAMB, Edo State Chapter.
